I love to travel, preferably without a backpack. A perfect day of travel includes museums, exploring new places on foot and ending the day with a nice place to stay.
June 8 2007: The Jefferson Hotel is like taking a few steps back into old Virginia. In fact, the central staircase inspired the famous staircase in Gone With the Wind. This historic hotel is unique and special and really is a one-of-a-kind. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The lobby is architecturally interesting and the moldings alone could be studied for a while. The hotel has an indoor pool and a great workout facility. The Jefferson is beautiful and centrally located- near the State Capital and Shockoe Slip that has tons of great restaurants.

Love to find a new spot. Enjoyed South America and New Orleans recently. Like activity, but food and wine a must. With wife Nature, and boutique hotel - with fellas then it is Hunting, fishing and games. Always love Water.

June 14 2007: Classy spot. From the onset you are greeted with true Virginia Style. I have been to many events at the Jefferson - all top notch. We stayed here last fall for a wedding. The room was nice, the wedding rate very attractive and the service (for what we needed) was perfect. Forgot my cuff-links and was able to buy some in the gift shop over the phone on my way to the event with the doorman meeting me out front. Great Service.
Not tried the dining except with large parties.
Location is in Richmond center so it makes a great home-base for those that are traveling through or visiting Richmond.

I really appreciate a great hotel and am willing to pay (within reason). Typical split personality: family w/ 3 small kids and business exec road warrior. Hotel priorities are location, cleanliness, non smoking, peace and quiet, fitness center.
October 9 2007: Historic hotel with top ratings and unbelievable charm. Lobby and common areas are breathtaking. Definitively, the best hotel in Richmond.
Highly rated restaurant Lemaire is a special experience. Atmosphere is nice, and the staff and service try hard.
Rooms are nice, not super nice (very solid 4 star rooms in a 5 star hotel). Very good service.
Overall, a great hotel. Good hotel for meetings or a weekend getaway. We will be back, and I will also plan to host a meeting or two there.
