Not so at the Hilton Garden Inn in Issaquah. I logged in to post this on the first of three night's stay. This hotel did accessibility right!
Of course I'll give you the photos on the bathroom - superbly done in the model with the bathtub. Next time I'll review the ones with a roll-in shower. Before the physical review a bit about the service.
I was greeted by the front desk almost as soon as I was in the door. Christmas cookies were there waiting across from the cosy fireplace in the lobby. We arrived too late for the restaurant but the staff (a skeleton crew for Christmas) fixed up some wonderful food and delivered it to the room. Later, when I absentmindedly left my laptop behind in the parking lot the staff snatched it up and had it waiting for me when I returned (Thank you, Rosemary!)
Now, let me confess that I am not positively predisposed to any building at all being on this piece of ground. You see, when I grew up this plot was a farm across from Lake Sammamish and a sky diving school known as Sky Sports. Watching the are build up has not been enjoyable as wilderness gets pushed father back into the Casacade Mountains. (The name on the front of the buiding, Hyla Crossing, is a bittersweet example of local color. "Hyla" refers to the colorful tree frogs native to the region.
So yes, the bathroom, as I promised,
It meets all the codes but there is attention to style. Grab bars and towel racks harmonize. There are multiple grab bars at differing heights. There is plent of wheelchair tun space on the tile bathroom floor - including knee clearnace under the sink and fott pedal hgh coving to prtect the walls from scuff marks. You can even "hear" the phone ring well from the bathroom with the light high on the wall that flashes with the ringing. (Fir alarm work. It went off while we were there!)
Date of stay: December 2007
