We may be small, but we’re definitely punching above our weight class. Here’s an introduction to the team that makes things happen at VibeAgent:
Adam Healey – Co-Founder & CEO
Prior to co-founding VibeAgent in 2006, Adam was the founder and CEO of
Samba Digital Media, a 40 employee e-services consulting firm based in
Prague. At Samba he oversaw the company’s international expansion,
raised $2.4 million of venture capital, and helped secure an extensive
multinational blue-chip clientele.
Adam has also worked in management consulting at Monitor Group, corporate venture capital at Landmark Communications, and fixed income trading at Salomon Smith Barney. He’s a proud DoubleHoo, receiving both his BS and MBA from the University of Virginia.
When he’s not glued to his MacBook, Adam enjoys scuba diving, cooking, skiing, flying, live music, and taking his lab puppy Virginia for long walks on the Downtown Mall.
Charles Seilheimer – Co-Founder, President & CFO
Charles is no stranger to the wonderful
world of technology. Before founding VibeAgent with Adam in 2006,
Charles worked closely with many leading technology firms as an
investment banker at JPMorgan in San Francisco.
Charles has also worked in investment banking at Banc of America Securities, private equity for The Clipper Group and several entrepreneurial ventures. He received his bachelor’s degree in economics at Middlebury College and his MBA at the University of Virginia.
Charles is a travel enthusiast and has visited over 50 countries. In his free time he enjoys sailing and hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains with his wife Nora.
John DeMarchi – Director of User Experience
John brings over ten years of web design and development experience to
VibeAgent, most of which is tied directly to the online travel industry.
Recently, he was Director of New Product Development at Orbitz, where he
helped deliver innovative product strategies. Prior to that, he helped
launch InterActiveCorp's Pronto.com (a social shopping site), and
spent over 5 years at Priceline.com, building the user experience, as
well as assuming the lead creative position for two site redesigns.
John received his BFA in graphic design from the University of Connecticut. When he's not trying to make the web a better place for you to buy a hotel, he's keeping an eye on the technology and design communities, tagging his (legal) music collection, or watching way too much Seinfeld.
Chris Konizer – Product Manager
Chris brings to VibeAgent extensive knowledge of leading Internet
technologies, a keen eye for design, and an ability to motivate and
deliver stellar results. Prior to joining the VibeAgent team, Chris
served as the Senior Project Manager for Category 4 Design, and Director
of R&D for Fresh Brewed Media.
Chris earned his Bachelors of Science in Arts Management from the Conservatory at Shenandoah University, with a Minor in Commercial Music and Jazz Studies. After graduation, He spent the next 5 years in a therapeutic capacity running a group home for emotionally disturbed teens, and interning at a Maryland State rehabilitative hospital. From therapeutic program development & interaction, to management of an award-winning web development team, Chris has a working knowledge of the way people interact with the technological landscape in which we live.
In his "free" time, Chris enjoys playing bass with local musicians, photography, cooking, and home improvement projects.
Patrick Keith-Hynes – Web Analytics Manager
Patrick's professional experience ranges from hardware and software
product development to computational quantum field theory. Before
joining VibeAgent Patrick co-founded Brooktrout Technology, a developer
of high performance voice and fax processing technology based in
Needham, MA. After serving as V.P. of Engineering at Brooktrout for ten
years Patrick moved to Charlottesville where he earned a PhD in physics
at the University of Virginia.
When he isn't optimizing traffic flow for the VibeAgent hotel search engine Patrick enjoys social dance and fly fishing for trout in the Blue Ridge mountains.
Jeff Bordogna – Search & Integration
Jeff was one of the first members of the VibeAgent team, and has played
an integral role in technology strategy and development at the
firm. Prior to VibeAgent, Jeff developed a content management
system for the national Army ROTC program, and a web application to help
UVA students share feedback on courses and professors.
Jeff recently graduated from the University of Virginia with a double bachelor's degree in economics and systems engineering. When not working on VibeAgent, he enjoys playing pickup soccer, running marathons, and taking in the occasional live concert.
Bill Hunt – Lead Developer & Quality Assurance Manager
Bill has been doing web development
as long as there's been a web. Prior to joining the VibeAgent team, Bill
served as Senior Programmer at Category 4 Design, and Head of PHP
Development for Munk & Phyber.
In Bill's copious free time (when not working on VibeAgent's codebase and QA process), he can be found writing open source frameworks and creating websites for local nonprofit organizations. He is also an accomplished DJ, photographer, and salsa dancer.
Greg Herrington – Development
Greg brings eight years of technology leadership experience and a bad case of the
the start-up bug to VibeAgent. Most recently, Greg served as CTO for
Audiolunchbox, a music download service for indie-only tunes and a
digital music platform that powers several e-music stores. Prior to
Audiolunchbox (where, sadly, he failed to amass any indie street cred),
he co-founded and served as CTO for Topik Solutions, an email
relationship management application service provider for the publishing
industry.
Greg graduated with a BA in economics from the University of Virginia. When away from his laptop, Greg enjoys swimming, playing squash and tennis, and noodling on his guitar. As a Louisiana native, Greg instinctively pours tabasco on everything and can make a bloody mary that will knock your socks off.
Dr. Matthias Hild – Analytics
Matthias is the guiding force behind VibeAgent's proprietary
search algorithms. He's also a professor of decision
analysis at the University of Virginia's graduate business
school. His research covers both the theoretical and behavioral
aspects of decision-making and spans across risk management, decision
analysis, social choice theory, and statistics.
Matthias has also been a Senior Research Fellow at the California Institute of Technology and at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and a Research Fellow at Christ's College, Cambridge. He has a doctorate in philosophy from Oxford University.
